LAKE UPDATE II

Another visit was made to the lake today (25/08/10)  to view the ongoing work.

1. Black lining and on top of square sections plastic grating, these are leveled with hard core.This seems to be the final stage.

2. The second one shows the edging which stops the hard core running into the lake.

3. The last one shows the nice curve leading towards our present jetty - note that all along, behind the edging it is planned to cement in more of the larger size pebbles to stop these being thrown into the lake.

The Club now has permission from the Silvermere Management, to put up a permanent sign to indicate that:

"Including fisherman's bait boats the lake is to be used by radio controlled models owned by Phoenix Marine Model Club members only."

The sign has been ordered and will be erected underneath the "Deep Water Sign" , presently there.

LAKE UPDATE

Work is progressing slowly. It is estimated  there is another 2 weeks of work.

The island has been enlarged and large rocks now form the edges.

The final surface work is about to start. No decision yet on new Jetty.

CLUB PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION

 
The Phoenix Photo Competition is open to all members. The theme is "This Maritime World". Entries in Black and White or Colour must be received by the 14th February Club night 2011. Entries must be PRINTS. The Committee will select finalists which will be voted for by members to select the winner at the March 2011 club night.
Please remember the law regarding children in your pictures and you must seek parents or guardian approval if they are in your picture. If you are unsure on this matter please contact Ian Rutherford for clarification on this subject. The March club night will be on the subject of Photography with a guest speaker from the Bookham Photo' Club.

RY MODELLERS TROPHY
 
Members should advise me if you intend to submit a model for this years competition ASAP. The Rules are clearly set out on the website. At such short notice we do not expect many entries this year however two members are planning to submit models. Please remember models must be at the October club night for consideration this year. The result will be announced at the Christmas Party in December.
